Podcast: Ted Ty
We are very excited to bring you our first Podcast with Ted Ty! Ted has a great amount of experience animating in both 2d and 3d. He’s worked on films such as Pocahontas, Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and is currently working on Shrek Forever After. Ted is also the Year Four Traditional Animation Instructor at Cal Arts. Ted sat down with us to talk about how he got started, making the transition from 2d to 3d, and gave us some great advice on animation.

actually. A straight download from the website would be even better. I don’t have Itunes on any of my machines and don’t even intend to install it (resources hog, hidden services like Bonjour and DNScache…)
There’s a “Download” option just under the player. Just right click and save as!
If the player or the download option isn’t working or even visible for you let us know and we can try to figure it out.

Cool site guys! I don’t know how you find time to put it together, but I’m glad you do!
You know, you might pass someone in the hallway everyday but never really get to know them so it was really fun to get a better insight into Ted’s history and artistic philosophy!
I look forward to your next installment!

man, I didn’t expect such a great indepth interview, that is awesome!
I didn’t quite get what he meant when he spoke about Cartoony animation being the “Vegetable” and acting the “desert” since he then mentionned Ward Kimball as one of his favourite animator. Any idea?
Ah and could we get more infos on that concept of “ambient motion”?
thanks again
