Dance Fortress
2I’m not usually a fan of animated dancing. Practically never.
However, I found this short clip pretty amusing:
There are a lot of unique choices and every character’s moves are different. You should probably play it a few times and watch a different character each time. I thought there were some pretty entertaining things happening and it was pretty fun to watch.

In animation, reference is very important because you have to know your subject before you can animate it. Makes sense. Sometimes searching for reference can be a difficult task. Thankfully a new Vimeo group, at least new to us, is posting a bunch of animation reference videos for us all to check out. There seem to be a lot of high quality clips both in real-time and slow-motion. Some of the horse trots are worth a visit alone.

I just wanted to share this little link and say congrats to our very own Ben Willis for being featured in this months Animation Mentor Newsletter. Its a really great article interviewing animators Nicky Phelan, Travis Tohill and Ben about how they got to where they are today. Good job Mr. Willis and thanks for sharing your story
