A bunch of very talented artists have decided to leave the movie industry behind and go after their dream of making a video game. A few of them are close friends to a few of us on SoA and we can attest to how passionate they are about making this dream a reality.

They are running a Kickstarter campaign and would love your support! Follow the link below to find out more and contribute to making this dream come true! Hurry though! There are only 5 days left!

Lethal Vengeance

We wanted to share an awesome trailer that a few fellow animators made. Instead of spoiling things with our lame description, let me just give you the official blurb.

From the co-director of “Footage Loose” and “Push It” comes another retro epic created, acted, shot, edited and scored by Character Animators from Dreamworks and Disney in their spare time. Directed by Steven J. Meyer (Dreamworks animator) with story by Bob Davies (Dreamworks animator) . Starring Michael Kiely (Disney Animator) as Brock Stryker and many, many more!

What is Lethal Vengeance? So glad you asked.

In 1973 Lethal Vengeance was set to be released as the first of a karate/action/thriller trilogy. After blowing their budget on casting, Six Time All State Karate Champion, Don Kurtchner, a cast of beautiful women, an arsenal of pyrotechnics and gallons of fake blood, the film makers panicked as they had no money left for music to accompany their epic film.
Thinking on his feet, acclaimed director, Randy Bonaire, decided to place an ad in the local L.A. paper to find some young, raw talent to create a sound track for no money.
The ad ran as follows:
“Looking for musicians to make sound track for (K.A.T.) film starring Don Kurchner. This is NOT a paid gig, but I can personally guarantee you fame and acquaintance with loose women.”
On a warm Tuesday afternoon in July, a group of musicians that called themselves Funk Bunker answered Bonaire’s ad. The collaboration was legendary and Funk Bunker signed on to write the sound tracks to all three films in the L.V. Trilogy.

Enjoy!

With the release of Rise of the Guardians on DVD/Blu-Ray, we wanted to share some of the work of our fellow SoA-er Jacob Gardner. He recently cut together a reel of his favorite work from the film for everyone’s viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Note: Jacob cut it together in 720p so watch it in HD for the full experience. 🙂
